About
Dru Bedard was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She is a writer, researcher, and activist with extensive business management/operations knowledge - particularly in the healthcare industry. Her expertise has “called her” to become a leader in healthcare and digital privacy reform. Bedard is seeking a team to help her launch a tell-all docu-series, “On Spin Doctoring,” - an insider’s experience on how the healthcare system ‘really’ functions and the danger it poses to us all.
At 18 Bedard moved to Milan, Italy, to pursue her music career; where she performed at venues of note, including; ‘Just Cavalli’ & ‘Magazzini Generali.
In 2014, Bedard moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she currently resides. While she initially moved to Los Angeles to further her career in music and acting, she instead took to standup comedy to hilariously vent her trauma so she could “move on with her life.” Her first-ever stand-up act was a 15-minute set at Pasadena’s legendary venue “The Ice House.” True to form Bedard had no idea how significant this opportunity was; she then moved on to perform at “The Comedy Store” and “The Laugh Factory.”
Many refer to Bedard as a millennial outliner, as she is notoriously private both online and off. Bedard’s extensive knowledge of technology fuels her desire to protect her personal data from the unregulated technology industry - data collection is the most profitable commodity in the history of the world - and Bedard goes to lengths to take control over her unauthorized commodification.
“My lack of social media presence made things a little challenging at first, particularly because many of my writing projects required NDA agreements and were published under other’s names - its a common practice called ghostwriting. Ghostwriting was a great start for me in terms of developing story structures with marketability. I learned a lot, I was literally ‘doing the work’, I’d be lying if I said I was okay with others getting the credit for my writing.
Today everyone expects to see our entire professional history online. However, I’m proud of my decision to create in private, as it gave me time to develop my voice without constantly having to rebrand - what a concept.
I’ve come into my own and I know the message that I want to put out into the world. I know PR and it’s functionality, it’s more exciting to me to emerge seemingly out of nowhere. At the end of the day my work isn’t about me, it's about effectuating meaningful change for all.”
Bedard states the importance of keeping her cyber footprint clear until she’s ready to launch the projects that will mobilize the mass collective. More specifically, the projects that impact, and push for change.
